There are more than 30,000 people living in Salford who are aged 65 or older and this is predicted to increase by almost 40% to 45,600 by 2030.
The locality plan vision for older people is for a radically changed health and care system where older people are able to keep their independence and take a much more active role in their own care. In our Age Well section, learn more about our campaigns to support older people to stay healthy and how we engage with the community to give a voice to our older generations .
What do we mean by 'age well'?
- I am an older person who is looking after my health and delaying the need for care
- If I need it, I will be able to access high quality care and support
- I know that when I die, this will happen in the best possible circumstances
