As the nation celebrates 72 years since the NHS began, Salford CCG would like to say thank you to everyone who has support the NHS throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

During the last few months, the NHS has been through the greatest test in its lifetime. And we will continue to deal with the many challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic for the foreseeable future.

We have experienced many difficult times during these months. So this year, as we remember all those we have lost, the way we mark our anniversary will have a different feel to years gone by.

Every week of the pandemic, we have seen the people of Salford show their true spirit with love and appreciation for the NHS and carers including kind messages and generous donations. We want to use the 72nd anniversary as an opportunity to say thank you back.

We will be marking the day by thanking our staff, GP practice staff, local partners such as Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and Salford City Council, and the public. Without your support and understanding, the NHS wouldn't have been able to respond the coronavirus the way it did. We will also be lighting our building blue on Saturday and joining people across the UK for a final clap for NHS staff and carers at 5pm on Sunday.

If you would like to get involved, visit https://together.org.uk/ and make sure you share you're thank you/birthday messages with us on social media tagging @SalfordCCG (Facebook and Twitter) and @nhssalfordccg (Instagram).
