Petting farm advice - don’t let bugs spoil your fun this Bank Holiday!

Public Health England North West is urging visitors to petting farms this spring to make sure they take care with hand hygiene to avoid illness.
Even when they appear clean and healthy, many animals can carry parasites and germs that can affect young children, such as E.coli 0157 or cryptosporidium, and evidence shows those cases can peak in the spring - partly associated with children handling animals and feeding lambs at petting farms.

Next step on road to integration

Plans to create a pioneering new organisation for adult health and social care in Salford have taken another step forward.

Details of the full business case and new governance arrangements for the Integrated Care Organisation have been published and are now being considered by each of the organisations which are developing the proposals: Salford City Council, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, NHS Salford Clinical Commissioning Group and Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMW).
